I want to help you rethink individual mental performance sessions and mental health in general. You might be thinking, I don't need help. Nothing is wrong with me, etc. There is a big stigma around people 'needing fixing' or there 'being something wrong' for them to find therapy, support, or even mental health help. Granted, my work isn't clinical however, Mental Performance is Mental Health.
What I want you to think about is not what needs to be wrong for me to fix it? I want you to change that mindset to how can I find a new perspective or learn a new way to do something that will add value to my life? That's what these sessions are all about. You and I are collaborating together to find a solution that benefits you in whatever area of life you're needing. Some example sessions I've done are: Connecting Mind to Body through Mindfulness, How to Cope with Adversity in the Athletic Arena, Finding your Identity through your faith not sport, Transitioning to the 'real world' after being an elite competitor, and much more.
My sweet spot for sessions where clients see the most improvement is 6-8 sessions. Those can be 30 minutes to 1 hour each. Think of it this way, it can take people different lengths of time to create a habit yet even longer or shorter to create a new lifestyle. 6-8 sessions provides that wiggle room for you to see how serious you are about improving and learning versus wanting a quick fix. Team sessions can look anything like team building with athletes to business retreat sessions. Having a strong and cohesive team in any type of setting gives you an advantage over your competitors. When your teammates are all on the same page and the coaching staff or business leaders are too, feedback will be taken with more ease, there will be better role clarity, and a strong culture and identity that others can recognize right away.
